WiFiCert is an independent WiFi assessment and certification programme. Every certification follows a structured process designed to evaluate real-world WiFi quality using evidence-based measurements and independent review.
From assessment to certification, every venue follows a clear and transparent process.
WiFiCert currently offers three certification levels: Verified, Guaranteed and Trusted. (Certification Levels Explained).
The exact assessment requirements may vary depending on the certification level selected. However, all certification paths follow the same core principles of evidence collection, analysis and independent review.
WiFi quality measurements and evidence are collected using the WiFiCert methodology. Assessments may be completed by the venue, a WiFiCert Partner or an authorised assessor.
The collected data is analysed against the relevant WiFiCert requirements and performance criteria.
A detailed assessment report is produced, documenting findings, observations and measured performance across the assessed areas. The Full Report is an optional assessment deliverable and may be ordered separately from certification.

Where opportunities for improvement are identified, a structured improvement plan can be produced to help the venue increase WiFi quality and certification readiness. The Improvement Plan is available as an optional professional service.

Once the venue is satisfied with the assessment outcome, a formal certification application may be submitted for independent review.
The application, assessment evidence and supporting documentation are independently reviewed by WiFiCert. Certification is granted only when the applicable certification criteria have been met.
Successful venues receive a digital certificate and the right to display the corresponding WiFiCert badge.
Certified venues are published in the WiFiCert Public Registry, allowing visitors and guests to independently verify certification status.
Certified venues must renew their certification periodically to maintain their certified status. Renewal requirements vary according to the certification level and may include documentation review, updated evidence, verification activities or reassessment where required by the programme.
Assessment, Full Report and Improvement Plan services may be ordered independently of certification. Many venues use WiFiCert assessments to understand current WiFi performance and identify improvement opportunities before deciding whether to apply for certification.
Official certification document issued by WiFiCert, including certification details and a public verification reference.
Digital certification badge that may be displayed on websites, marketing materials and venue communications.
Public verification record allowing visitors and guests to independently confirm certification status.
Public listing within the WiFiCert Registry, making certified venues discoverable through the platform.
Recognition of the achieved WiFiCert certification level based on assessment results and certification criteria.
Certification supported by an evidence-based assessment process using the WiFiCert methodology and framework.
Demonstrate a commitment to delivering a reliable and independently assessed WiFi experience.
Assessment duration depends mainly on the number of test locations, the size and complexity of the venue, and how efficiently the person performing the assessment moves through the site. Most assessments are completed in less than one hour. Larger or more complex venues may require several hours to assess.
Full Reports and Improvement Plans are available immediately after the assessment has been completed, subject to payment where applicable.
Certification review begins after the application and supporting assessment evidence have been submitted. Most certification decisions are issued within 24 hours. Larger, more complex or higher-level certification applications may require additional review and are typically completed within 7 days.
Small venues may be completed within a few days. Larger or more complex environments may require additional time.
Certification is not automatically granted. Improvement recommendations may be provided before reassessment.
Yes. Accredited Partners may assist with assessments, evidence collection and improvement planning.
WiFiCert is designed to provide an independent assessment of real-world WiFi quality. Rather than focusing solely on headline speed test results, the programme evaluates multiple aspects of the user experience, including performance, responsiveness, consistency and reliability.
Depending on the certification level selected, venues may be asked to provide measurements, supporting evidence and additional information about the wireless environment. All evidence is reviewed against published programme requirements before a certification decision is made.
Where improvement opportunities are identified, venues may choose to implement recommendations and request reassessment before certification is granted. This approach helps ensure that certification remains meaningful, transparent and evidence based.
